Adventurers of the unknown space ... It is the Spacecrew speaking to you! Today, we wanted to tease your minds with a very special fact, one that you probably already know. In fact, about 40 years ago, the Voyager 1 probe left the American soil of Cape Canaveral.

This probe still travels constantly in the cold, empty darkness of space. Now you probably already know very well what it is and also what its task was but we are here on purpose to intrigue you and to inform you ... So welcome to the magical world of the farthest man-made object from our dear planet.
It all began on September 5, 1977, when the module containing the Voyager 1 probe was launched from US soil with a Titan IIIE rocket. Its primary task was to reach the great and gaseous red planet (Jupiter), for a "photo shoot" to its atmosphere.

Later the mission continued and reached Saturn mainly for detailed study of its large rings and one of its largest moons Titan.
Once the probe reached Jupiter in January 1979 it arrived to Saturn on the 12th of November 1980... Its mission led to the discovery and study of numerous volcanic activities on the soil of some of Jupiter's satellites (especially Io) thus leading to the construction of some successor probes such as Pioneer 10 and Pioneer 11.
After the gas giant, Vojager 1 took some great pictures of Titan and Saturn's rings.
After its primary mission our friend continued its journey into the unknown with the specific task of studying the composition and structure of the outer solar system.
By now the probe has passed the 'termination shock' in December 2004 and later on the heliopause on the 25th of August 2012.
From that moment on, our distant friend is travelling through interstellar space towards the total unknown between the stars and the darkness of space.

The probe is currently at about 148.431 AU and will continue on its interstellar journey until 2025 when its radioactive isotope batteries will stop producing energy.
And you would think: - what is so important about a simple piece of junk like this?
I will answer by telling you that inside there is the whole history of mankind... Entirely encased in a little golden disc: the Voyager Golden Record...
However and in whatever case, it will continue to travel to the stars taking all mankind with it... This is proof that man has gone and will return to space.
